Steak on a Stick
Guest Author - Lisa Babick

This recipe makes 10 - 16 sticks.

1-1/2 pounds flank steak, 1/4 inch thick
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 water
2 tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon powdered ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Bamboo skewers

1. Cut the steck into 1/4-inch slices diagonally. Place the pieces in a large bowl with a tight cover or a gallon-size storage bag.
2. In a small bowl, mix thoroughly with a spoon or whisk, the soy sauce, vegetable oil, water, molasses, dry mustard, ginger and garlic powder.
3. Pour the mixture onto the steak and seal tightly. Shake the bowl or bag vigorously to marinate.
4. Place the steak in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or freeze until ready to use.
5. While the steak is marinating, soak the bamboo skewers in water for at least an hour before use.
6. 10 minutes before you're ready to serve, skewer the meat ribbon style with 3 to 4 pieces on a skewer.
7. Broil the meat about 3 minutes on each side or until done to your likeness.
