Learning About Wines : The Next Step

Guest Author - Paula S.W. Laurita

You've introduced yourself light whites and reds, now where do you go from there?

These wines have more body than whites listed in our Beginning White Wines article. They offer more depth and structure for your enjoyment.

  • Orvieto
  • French white Burgundy (only AOC level)
  • California Chardonnay
  • New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc

Finish this tasting with a dry Champagne. Even those who don't normally enjoy Champagne will appreciate the qualities of the Jean Velut Cuvee Speciale Brut Champagne, Blanc de Blancs. The bubbles are perfect, fine, plentiful, but not too effervesent, brining scents of spring flowers and fresh vines. The flavors are lush, playing on the tongue with tropical fruit flavors.

Special from Geerlings & Wade!
