The Original Las Vegas Podcast - Five Hundy by Midnight - Travel Podcast
When thinking about a Las Vegas vacation, a great way to get into the spirit is to listen to a few of the latest Vegas podcasts. This podcast has it all. It is funny, useful and not ever a waste of time(debatable by DH) It’s the best weekly, thirty minute travel podcast I have found. The "never quite knowing what to expect" aspect, is what makes this great podcasting!
One Year Anniversary
Celebrating their one year anniversary with show number 50 was a huge milestone. I was impressed, as I have subscribed to many podcasts that last about seven shows and then drop off the radar. That means that Tim Dressen has created, hosted and produced 50 podcasts in one year and is still going strong.
The one year anniversary show is the best overview of what to expect from these podcasts. Most weekly shows run about 30 minutes, but the one year extravaganza was over one hour of pure entertainment.

In a LV Review Journal newspaper report, he states that this isn’t a job, but it is a hobby. Tim is joined often by his wife Michelle, who as a self acknowledged shoe freak (much to the chagrin of some of the listeners who just want Las Vegas stories). They won me over quickly.
What is so amazing about this Las Vegas podcast, is that they upload from their home in Roseville, Minn. Oh, and they have that great, unforgettable accent, so go listen to at least one of their shows. You will be hooked.
I listened to a few of the first podcasts, and it seems Tim was a want to be radio jock as a kid, but as you may or may not know, radio is not all its “rocked up” to be. The idea that a listener might want to listen to the radio and not hear the same music or talk over and over all day, is a novelty that radio stations just can’t get their marketing gurus to comprehend. The fact that Tim has a jock voice wouldn’t be enough in the broadcasting world… but it sure helps in the podcasting world.
In retrospect, FHBM (Five Hundy By Midnight) isn’t truly a travel podcast. It is – however – a podcast about Las Vegas and all things Vegas.
