DAB Dortmunder Export Beer
DAB Dortmunder Export is a beer directly from Germany which has 150 calories. How does this beer compare with the world of low carb beer?
My young adult days were spent drinking Heineken, so my taste buds have been trained to enjoy that style of German flavor. So, to me, the DAB has that comfortable taste to it. It has a good head, a flavor which isn't mind but is nice, and a good finish.
I also appreciate that it comes in a green glass. I've done study after study to see how quickly beer will skunk in a clear glass. The answer is that beer can skunk in an amazingly short period of time (10-15 minutes) if exposed to any light through glass. The green glass at least helps to soften the blow.
In terms of carbs and calories, so far I've found that this DAB Export has 150 calories. Compare that with the 92 calories the DAB Low Carb has - but I can't seem to find the low carb version around any more. Heck, I can barely get my hands on the DAB. So this one is not the lowest on the market, but it's also not the highest. I'm waiting to hear from the DAB press team what the carb count is. It's not on the label.
Heck, the alcohol content isn't on the label, which I find surprising. I thought it had to be.
Nutrition:
calories: 150
alcohol: 5.4%
size: 11.2oz
All in all, a reasonable solution for those who enjoy this type of flavor.
