American Pie
Teenaged angst and hi-jinx run rampant between Jim, Finch, Kevin and Oz, four high school pals who make a pact for senior prom and the after party. But there’s plenty of time to cause and to get into trouble before then. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “American Pie”.
∙ When Jim first approaches Nadia at Stifler’s party, he pretends to be laughing at something the girls said. Behind him, there is a boy in a blue shirt and a girl in a beige tank top who walk up to the two girls talking at the fireplace. It cuts to a side view of Jim, Nadia and her friend and then cuts back to a close-up of Jim. The boy and girl can be seen walking up to the two girls at the fireplace again.
∙ Jim and his dad are sitting on his bed while Jim’s dad hands him different magazines. When Jim’s dad hands him the third magazine, the close-up shows Jim’s dad is holding the magazine at the top. But in the next view of the two of them on the bed, he’s holding the magazine at the bottom.
∙ Nadia is in Jim’s room and she opens the drawer next to his bed. When she first opens the drawer a jar of Vaseline/Petroleum Jelly can be seen on the left side. A moment later, the jar has completely vanished.
∙ When Finch makes a mad dash for the restroom, he reaches up for a seat cover. The left side view shows that Finch pushes the box sideways through the silver holders that’s mounted on the wall. The box can be seen sticking out of the bottom. It cuts to a front view and the box is back in place. It cuts back to the left side view and the box is sideways again.
∙ Near the end of the movie, Stifler is throwing a party after prom. Finch walks into the room where Stifler’s mom is. Finch takes a yellow pool ball and rolls it across the table. When Stifler’s mom asks if he’s lost, the front view of Finch shows the yellow pool ball has stopped in the middle of the table. It cuts to a view of Stifler’s mom and then back to Finch. The yellow pool ball has moved to the left side of the table.
“American Pie” stars Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Alyson Hannigan, Shannon Elizabeth, Tara Reid, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Seann William Scott, Eugene Levy, Natasha Lyonne, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge. It runs 95 minutes and is rated R for strong sexuality, crude sexual dialogue, language and drinking, all involving teens.
