Spring Clean Your Body, Mind And Soul

For some of us on the planet spring is here. The days are growing longer, winter is behind us and it is time to spring clean our whole being.
Spring Clean Your Body
If the New Year’s resolutions have gone out of the window, the winter months have taken their toll on your skin and you have laid down an unwanted layer of fat, spring is the perfect time to start anew.
To spring clean your system make sure you are drinking plenty of water and eat at least half of your daily food intake as fresh fruits and vegetables. Cut down on all fats such as butter or fried food and get plenty of exercise by moving about and doing the jobs you have put off until tomorrow. Tomorrow is here.
Spring cleaning the house will help burn off those extra pounds as the dust and clutter is cleared away. Even if it is just rethinking your wardrobe for spring or cleaning out the food cupboards and making a list to restock. By keeping active and not indulging in fatty snacks between meals you will feel more organised and healthier.
Spring Clean Your Mind
Worry about a problem never finds a solution. If something is bothering you then face it head on. Do not spend time brooding over something that could easily be remedied by saying what is on your mind or by physically moving to put things back in order.
A cluttered mind is incapable of functioning properly, nothing ever gets finished before something new needs our attention. Make a ‘three things a day’ board by deciding on three things to do in one day, writing each one down on a post-it note and stick them onto a board or a cupboard door. If you accomplish all three things in one day, imagine that you could accomplish 1095 tasks in a year.
Spring Clean Your Soul
Spring is the perfect time of year to get outside in the fresh air and admire the wonders of nature returning after the harsh winter months. The trees are budding and putting out their blossoms. The daffodils and spring bulbs are popping up through the soil. The sun is rising higher in the sky, warming and lengthening the days. Take advantage of a sunny day to go outside and just look at all the wonderful beginnings happening around you.
Spring clean your body, mind and soul by taking a long walk in the park, along a quiet street or if you are lucky enough to get to the top of a mountain then stop and admire the incredible forces of sap rising and the song of mating birds.
The worries of the world may still be there in the back of your mind but spring time will revive your spirits. Enjoy the newness and freshness of a world waking up and remember that on the other side of the world, nature is going to sleep.
Life is a circle with a beginning and an end point but it is how you get around the circle that counts. ~ Linda Heywood
