Magic Mike
Mike is a construction worker and a furniture making entrepreneur by day and a male stripper at a club in Tampa by night. When he takes Adam aka “The Kid” under his wing, it doesn’t take the newbie long to get caught up in the fame and excesses that the lifestyle brings. Mike, on the other hand, tries to keep focused on his own dreams. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Magic Mike”.
∙ During the “It’s Raining Men” number, Mike is in the front and Ken is behind him, in the background to his right. Ken can be seen taking his vest off and sliding his suspender straps down. It cuts to a couple of farther views and back to the close-up of Mike with Ken in the background and he can be seen taking his vest off again and sliding his suspenders down too.
∙ After the “It’s Raining Men” song, five of the guys are standing on the stage, facing forward. When the next song starts, the side view of the stage shows Tarzan and Tito turn to their right, towards the ladies in the audience on the side of the stage. It cuts to a front view of the stage with a close-up of Mike and Tarzan and Tito can be seen in the background, still facing forward, in their original positions.
∙ When Adam dances for the first time and jumps off the stage to sit on the girl’s lap, in the rear view, his boxers are pulled all the way up. It cuts to a closer, right side view of him and the boxers are partially down and the girl now has her hands on his backside.
∙ Near the end of the movie, Dallas has a solo performance to “Dr. Love”. At one point, he does a forward flip and in the close-up of his legs, he can be seen unfastening the right side of his thong with his left hand lowered in front of him. It cuts to a right side view and the right side is fastened again on the thong and his left hand is behind his head.
“Magic Mike” (2012) stars Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum, Olivia Munn, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Adam Rodriguez, Kevin Nash and Gabriel Iglesias. It runs 110 minutes and is rated R for pervasive sexual content, brief graphic nudity, language and some drug use.
