The Power of a Mother's Love
There can be nothing more fierce or unconditional on this earth than a Mother's love. To be loved, protected, cherished, and adored for just being you is one of the greatest gifts and lessons a child could receive. A mother holds in her hands the power to shape this world by the simple act of loving and caring for their child.
There are so many children that do not get the opportunity or benefit of being mothered in such this way. Instead, they suffer at the hands of someone that does not know how to care for them. Leaving their hearts unfulfilled and longing for something they cannot quite identify.
Children are the key to our future. They are our legacy. And whatever we place in them, will bring forth fruit in later years. Far too many children have been neglected, abandoned, and abused. And it takes a special person to be able to nurture and care for a child that has suffered such; to love on a child where a mother's love is foreign. Or, for whom the term mother is synonymous with pain and rejection.
Along with wishing every mother a Happy Mother's Day, I want to acknowledge those women that have taken it upon themselves, and because of the love in their hearts to mother children they did not birth, and children that were neglected and abused, who put up walls to protect themselves, making the task of caring for them sometimes difficult.
Thank you for your time, care, concern, and unwavering and unconditional love that you give with every breath you take. From a hug, a listening ear, fostering, adopting, or just spending time with a child who needs to know a mother's love.
The power in a mother's love is astounding. It can heal, soothe, comfort, and bring peace to chaos. I honor women that have it in their hearts to pick up the slack left by other women who just could not, for whatever reason, be a mother for their children. I honor women who can patiently love on a child that can be difficult, and whose heart is so battered they trust no one. It takes a special woman—a strong mother—to reach those kind of children.
To every foster mother, adoptive mother, surrogate mother, best friend's mother!—every woman that has mothered a child with unconditional love, whether you gave birth to them or not; I honor and salute you. They say that love makes the world go 'round. I say, a mother's love makes it shine.
Happy Mother's Day! May your day be filled with love, kindness, sweetness, and the blossoms from all the seeds of love you have planted over the years! Blessings!
