Fantastic Four - Rise Of The Silver Surfer
The only thing that Sue Storm and Reed Richards want to do is to get married. But their plans get dashed with the arrival of the mysterious alien entity, the Silver Surfer. When the government asks for their help in stopping him, the foursome must work with old foe Victor Von Doom to try to save the world. But who should the team really be leery of? Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Fantastic Four – Rise Of The Silver Surfer.
∙ Johnny and Reed are talking about Reed’s bachelor party. Reed moves his chair away from Johnny. When Johnny mentions “focus testing”, the back cover of the book can be seen behind him and it’s blank. When Reed says “no bachelor party”, Johnny turns and the book behind him now has lettering on it---backwards or a “mirror image”. Johnny then spins the chair over to Reed. When the camera pans around, the book behind him is the same one in the previous view, except the lettering is now correct. When Johnny wheels back towards Reed again and he’s talking about Sue, the first book with the blank cover is shown.
∙ In the farther view, when Victor Von Doom is walking away from the helicopter and towards the crater, the helicopter’s blades are rotating slowly. It cuts to a closer view and they’re moving quicker. The Silver Surfer comes out of the crater and the close-up of Doom shows the helicopter in the background and its blades have stopped.
∙ Johnny is telling Ben/Thing that Reed and Sue are “breaking up the team”. In the front view of Thing, there is a left side view of Alicia and her right hand is near her face. When Johnny makes the “Dynamic Duo” remark, a close-up of Alicia shows her hand is now down. It’s still down when Alicia says “they’ll tell you when they’re ready to tell you”. But when it cuts back to the left side view of Alicia when she makes the “doing what makes them happy” comment, her hand is next to her face again.
∙ When the team is watching the video recording of Victor Von Doom’s encounter with the Silver Surfer, the far, rear view, after Doom mentions the “energy levels surge”, shows Sue stands up. It cuts to a close-up of her and she’s standing up again.
“Fantastic Four – Rise Of The Silver Surfer” (2007) stars Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon, Kerry Washington, Laurence Fishburne and Beau Garrett. It runs 92 minutes and is rated PG for sequences of action violence, some mild language and innuendo.
