Mill Creek Club House Update

Mill Creek Club House Update
On my weekly visit to Mill Creek to check up on things, talk to the Pro and bring my weekly cookies for a special group. Things were fairly quiet and little activity so maybe since it was a Thursday and not on Friday. I had some trouble as I tried to enter the club house in the usual way through the pro shop door and found it boarded up. Had to back track and go through the front door so this was a big surprise.

I found there is a nice size entrance room with rock walls on both sides and a door showing a small room which I took as a coat closet. There was a door into the main dining room and I noticed that all the floors where a brown tile that were dusty. I had never noticed them when I was there before and it is the same flooring throughout. This also means everyone must come through the front door.

I checked the pro shop and saw the boarded up door with two men working to finish painting the ceiling. The Pro Shop had not changed much except the fresh paint, I was wondering how they were going to disguise the boarded up section.

The dining room area had not changed but I noticed a large opening to the swimming pool that could be for French doors. Just speculating but I checked the kitchen opening and the granite counter are where a person would be ordering their food. The kitchen also had granite counter tops and noticed a walk in freezer area, but no appliances were installed as yet.

The women’s locker room was painted and the sink area was tiled in and a granite counter top. Very impressive also the men locker room was cleaned and painted. This time I could not figure out just where the card room was located that I saw on the blue print plans. Sometimes best of plans may have to be changed.

I had a visit with J. L. Lewis about my upcoming luncheon and he said he would attend as I had an extra ticket. We also discussed briefly the Grand Opening as no date has been set, it was to be April 1st but having just been through the club house it will never be ready in 10 days. I want our Mill Creek Community Association in some way be involved with this, so will have to work on this later. J.L.Lewis will be coordinating the Grand Opening so will talk to him next week and will see him at the luncheon next week Thursday.
