Mill Creek Luncheon Plans
I have volunteered to decorate a table for the Salado Republican women’s luncheon to be held March 27 at 11:30 a.m. The theme of my table will be Welcome to Mill Creek Country Club to honor the new owners. They have begun rebuilding the golf course and club house and will be holding a grand opening sometime in April. I wanted to promote the new owners and let people know about the new development going on in Mill Creek.
I have gone through my photographs of the golf course and our new Pro J. L. Lewis. I will display these pictures around the table along with the brochure that J. L. Lewis published and we will be handing these out to over 100 people who attend this luncheon. What makes this luncheon unique is that there are 25 tables each decorated in a different theme. These tables are also judged for their originality and display. I have decorated a table for the past three years but no way in running for any prizes. It is my way to help the Republican ladies in their money raising project.
I have several round table clothes and will use a large brown one to put on first then a smaller one in beige. My plans are to use golf tissue paper to make puffed up places on the table to display all the golf accessories. It will be simple and my dishes will blend right in as they are brown stoneware with red glaze. I want them simple and more masculine to go with golfers and these people are not the frilly or lace individuals.
I am working on a plan for my golf display of table decorations to use a top torso mannequin and dress it with the golf course apparel and golf hat. It will be an eye catcher but if that plan does not work will want to display their new golf flags that mark each golf hole. I have many golf supplies and accessories that will help complete the decoration. I developed a large copy of the logo for the Mill Creek Country Club and they will be placed on the back of our six chairs at our table.
I have been working for the past three years to promote the Mill Creek Golf Club and hope the new owners much success in upgrading this golf course to be a showpiece in our area. It has been in the past and we are working to make it one of the greatest golf courses in the area.
