The Silence Of The Lambs
Young FBI agent, Clarice Starling must interview and share intimate information from her own life with brilliant but psychopathic Dr. Hannibal Lecter in order to stop a vicious serial killer, “Buffalo Bill”. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Silence of the Lambs”.
• Near the beginning of the movie, Clarice is jogging through the woods near the FBI headquarters in Quantico, Virginia. When she walks back into the building, the sweat stains on her shirt noticeably change between views. On the opposite side of the FBI emblem, the sweat on the shirt switches from being an arch that soaks through to the middle of her back to a smaller stain.
• After Hannibal Lecter gives Clarice the clues about the storage facility, she tries to break into the unit at night. She eventually gets down on the ground and takes off her gloves to look inside with her flashlight. When Clarice first takes them off, she is holding onto them with her right hand. That’s followed by a quick view of her looking into the room and then back to her on the ground. The gloves have completely disappeared.
• Senator Ruth Martin is talking with Lecter in the hangar. Before and after Lecter talks, the Senator’s hair is curled around the left side of her face but is disheveled on the right side. But, when Lecter is talking, Senator Martin’s hair is different. It’s tidier and in place.
• CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Clarice realizes who Buffalo Bill is and pursues him inside the house. Clarice walks down a flight of stairs and finds herself in front of a door. The door has the handle on the right and hinges on the left. But when she opens the door, the handle and hinges are now reversed. The door should have opened towards the left but opens to the right!
“The Silence of the Lambs” (1991) stars Anthony Hopkins, Jodie Foster, Ted Levine, Frankie Faison and Anthony Heald. It runs 118 minutes and is rated R for sex/nudity, violence and gore, language and frightening/intense scenes.
