Golf Ideas for 2014
I am sure there are some new golf program chairwomen who are looking for some ideas on what to do for their golf group in 2014. I am going to give you some suggestions and some books that might help you with your plans for a fun time this year with your golf ladies. Many ladies golf groups put on special tournaments and are searching for a theme or something that will be a lot of fun for your group.
My suggestion will be in the form of books that will aid you in finding something new and different that will interest your ladies. The first is a golf games book I purchased many years ago that was very helpful with 200 fun ways to add fun and challenge to your golf games. The title is “Golf Games Within the Game” by Linda Valentine and Margie Hubbard and was published in 1992. I checked, this book is listed on Amazon.com and are for sale by private individuals for $6.80. Someone prized this book so highly they listed it for $80.61 I guess I will hang on to my two copies as they must be that popular.
A fairly new publication of “Bread & Putts –Golf, Guests and Great Food” by Cheryl Nicolazzo published last year. It was for sale on eBay so when I contacted her as could not find it on eBay. She let me know that she dropped it from that site as had some problems. You can contact Cheryl on her email address which I will publish in my forum section on my golf site. She said she would be glad to hear from other lady golfers and you will love to work with her.
This book is in a three ring hard cover binder and all sections are handy for you to find any section that interests you. Starting with Cheryl’s excellent recipes of food that will satisfy the ladies at your golf outing. Within Cheryl’s book she list one hundred guest day ideas where you will find just the right idea for your group. Cheryl ends her book with 101 ways to improve your game so what’s not to like about this book. Send an email to Cheryl about this book.
My next recommendation is a book called Tee Parties by Peg Nikoden and published in 2003. This book also is a hard cover spiral bound with heavy duty pages that will stand lots of use. Peg divides her book in sections from Themes, decorations, invitations, menu including recipes, formats and prizes so this book also covers every angle of planning a big golfing event. Peg uses creative drawings at the beginning of each section. To find out more about this book or order it from the publishers and I will print that address in my forum section on my web site.
Last but not least is my book Crazy Golf Games published in 2011 and is available on Amazon.com. In this book I describe different golf tournaments that I have tried and also from some of the readers of my golf site at bellaonline.com. This is a paperback book but you may just find something to spice up your game with fun golf games.
Wishing you all a happy golfing season in 2014 and make it a fun time for all.
