A young boy has doubts about the existence of Santa Claus. But on one special Christmas Eve night, the Polar Express, a strange train with its conductor, arrives outside his house, on the way to the North Pole to visit Santa Claus before he makes his trip around the world. With his ticket in tow, the boy boards the train with other children, bound on its magical trip to believing. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “The Polar Express”.

• Hero Boy gets out of bed and peeks out of the door to see if Santa has already come and gone. His blue robe hangs from the bed post on the foot of the bed. But a few moments later, he’s back in his room and looking through the encyclopedia. He hears a noise and jumps back in bed and his robe is missing from the bed post. It’s back on the bed post when he sits up in bed when he hears the train.

• Hero Girl takes the cup of hot chocolate from under her seat and her seat is empty. But a few moments later, Hero Boy sees her ticket sitting in the seat.

• When Hero Boy is first standing outside the train, the train includes the engine, one box car and five lit compartments. When Hero Girl’s ticket falls into the snow and the wolves are running, there are a lot more lit cars attached to the train.

• CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! As Hero Boy is unwrapping the last present, the red and white striped box, the table next to him shows the glass that had been holding the milk for Santa is near the edge of the table, close to his shoulder. A foot or so back is a table decoration with a red candle. But after Hero Boy reads the note from Mr. C, it cuts to an overhead view of him and his sister, and the glass is further back, next to the table decoration.

“The Polar Express” (2004) features the voices of Tom Hanks, Leslie Zemeckis, Nona Gaye, Peter Scolari , Michael Jeter, Chris Coppola and Steven Tyler. It runs 100 minutes and is rated PG for some intense scenes.
