The Santa Clause 3

The Santa Clause 3
Scott has his hands full with an expectant Mrs. Claus and his in-laws while continuing to run the North Pole and toy production. But there’s also Jack Frost to contend with, who’s causing mischief at the Toy Shop and has plans to take over and commercialize Christmas by getting Scott to activate his little known “Escape Clause”. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “The Santa Clause 3”.

• Jack Frost is being reprimanded at the Counsel of Legendary Figures meeting. When he says “Excuse me…”, the view of him and Santa shows his glasses are sitting upright on the table. When Jack tells them to wait a minute, the glasses are upside down. They’re upright again when Jack makes the “dead citrus” comment. The glasses are upside down when cupid starts to speak. But they’re upright in the close-up of Jack and Santa when he begins saying “instead of a suspension…”. They’re also moved when he says “please Santa…”.

• Sylvia and Jack are drinking “cocoa-cinos” at the table. When Sylvia first sits down, the towel in front of her shows only a trace of the red ribbon design on it. A few moments later when Jack tries to get her to sing “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire”, the towel has been moved so that more of the red design is showing. Also during this scene, when Sylvia starts to sing, she’s holding the cup with her right hand. In the close-up (when Jack tells her to go back to the Jack Frost part), she’s holding the cup with both hands. The cup is suddenly on the table when it cuts to a wider view when Mrs. Claus asks “what’s going on over here”. Plus, when Jacks says “your mother is fabulous”, the rear view of him shows he’s holding up his left arm. But in the front, close-up view of him, it’s his right one that’s lifted up.

• Scott puts the recording pen in the right fold of his jacket with his left hand. When he’s listening to the elf play the piano, he uses his right hand to take it out of the left side of his jacket.

• When Santa is standing beside Mother Nature and looks at Lucy, the close-up view of him shows he’s holding her snow globe. It cuts to a wider view as he walks over to her and Santa’s hands are empty. She then hands him the snow globe.

“The Santa Clause 3” (2006) stars Tim Allen, Elizabeth Mitchell, Eric Lloyd, Judge Reinhold, Wendy Crewson, Spencer Breslin, Martin Short, Ann-Margret, Alan Arkin, Aisha Tyler, Kevin Pollak and Abigail Breslin. It runs 97 minutes and is rated G.
