Bringing the Smell of Sweetness Into Your Home
From cottage industry to corporate sales, home fragrance has reached new heights. Whether it’s scents that help your house feel like a home or outdoor candles to ward off mosquitoes, fragrances can be found for every occasion.
Remember when your elders used to make scented candles for holiday gifts? Some of you are now living from revenue generated from those humble beginnings. You’ve learned the art of candle making or perfume blending and you have taken the reigns as chief product maker.
Candles in particular have grown as an industry, they’ve stood the test of time. Once used strictly for providing soft light to a room, candles serve a number of purposes for their use. Not only do candles scent your room, they also serve as skin moisturizers. Yes there are actually candle blends that once they melt, you can use the wax as a moisturizer for your skin.
Home Fragrance Enters Home Décor
The connection of candles with home fragrance and home décor is amazing. Unique limited edition scents, destination scents not to mention food aroma are fueling the market. Vanilla almond, pumpkin pie, cherry pie and blueberry muffin are just a few of the scent names that have come to market in home fragrance.
Just ask a realtor! They’ll tell you that the smell of fresh baked cookies in the oven give your home a welcome, lived in feeling and a prospective buyer is psychologically drawn in by the aroma.
Not only do candles give you a pleasing aroma but when packaged right, they make beautiful home décor pieces. I once purchased candles that had been poured in wine glasses with colorful stems and another set of candles that looked like alligator hide. Too pretty to burn, they are still part of the accessory pieces that sit in my office.
Home fragrance pieces have gone through a tremendous revolution. You can now find everything from plug-ins to scented wood reeds that sit in fragranced oils.
Custom designed candles have carved out a niche for themselves. I used to know a candle maker that specialized in making candles for wedding gifts. He would take the Vow’s of the Bride and Groom and embed them in his and her candles. Awesome piece! He also made candles in the shape of wine or Champaign bottles with labels and all. Oh and they were scented in the bride and grooms favorite scent.
Has the smell of sweetness arrived in your home?
Whether it’s candles, plug-ins or scented wooden sticks the smell of a decorative fragrance piece is always welcomed into most homes.
