When Sara and Peter Campbell’s son, Matt, is diagnosed with cancer, the family moves into an old home to be closer to the treatment facility. Little does the family know that the home that they move into was once a former mortuary where the owner preceded over different occult acts using his own son, Jonah, as a catalyst. Now, with the new family at the house, old remnants of the house begin to raise their sinister heads. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “The Haunting in Connecticut”.

· Matt calls Reverend Popescu and they’re talking on the front steps of the church. In the left side view of Revered Popescu, when he makes the “invisible by everyone” comment, his arm is stretched out in front of him. It cuts to a right side view when he says “most people…” and his arms are folded in front of him. It goes back to the right side view when he says “but either way…” and his arms are outstretched again.

· Matt gets up from the table, puts his dishes in the sink and Sara tries to hug him. When he cries out in pain, she back away. The front view of him shows his hands in front of him with his fingers extended. It cuts to a right side view and his hands are closed up in fists. It cuts back to a front view and his hands are together, fingers straight.

· When Reverend Popescu comes to the house and they hand him the box of eyelids, he picks one up. In the side view, the eyelid is vertical in his fingertips. In the close-up view, he’s holding it horizontally. It cuts back to the original view and he’s holding it vertical once again. Also, the way Reverend Popescu holds the eyelid changes. In the side view, he’s holding the eyelid with his thumb, index finger and middle finger. But in the close-up, his index finger is curled back.

· Reverend Popescu arrives and is talking to Sara. He starts walking around the room and his hat can be seen on the back of one of the chairs. But just as he gets to the corner, where the table and Sara are in the background, his hat is no longer on the chair but it’s on the table.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Near the end of the movie, Matt grabs Wendy and Billy and pushes them out of the door. He tells them “whatever you do, do not let them put out the fire”. It cuts to a close-up of Wendy and Billy and Mary is suddenly standing there with them.

“The Haunting in Connecticut” (2009) stars Virginia Madsen, Martin Donovan, Elias Koteas, Kyle Gallner and Amanda Crew. It runs 92 minutes and is rated PG-13 for some intense sequences of terror and disturbing images.
