Another Church Scramble
It seems our Presbyterian minister loves golf so last year he mentioned that it would be fun to organize a golf scramble at the Mill Creek Golf Club. He asked another church member Chine Ray and I to organize it. The scramble was a huge success and our minister enjoyed it so much thought we could do this twice a year. This scramble last year turned into the Milton Kattner Golf Scramble a member of our church who is 92 years old. He has been an avid golfer his whole life and even builds golf clubs in his shop at home. He played with us on the scramble last year and was able to chip and putt to help his team. He will do the same again this year. This year the golf cart will have a sign taped to its wind shield calling it the official Milton Kattner Golf Scramble.
This is the gathering place getting ready to tee off.
We are all lined up ready to start out.
I was playing with our Minister as it was his idea to have these scrambles
Another members of the church Stan and Ellen Staples invited the full scramble players plus any church members to come to their patio to help celebrate this scramble. They live on the golf course front side. They wanted to watch us all go by as the long drive contest was on that hole. It did not work out that way as because of crowded conditions at the golf course we were moved to the back nine instead. It worked out OK as they all helped cheer the winners and help us relax and enjoy the day. The food and cool drinks were very welcome.
People who have signed up are ages from 14 to 89 years old this will be a fun time for all. We have all kinds of players from those new to the game to those who have been playing golf for many years. There were five teams of four players on each team with some of Milton’s friends joining us. It was a beautiful sunny warm day so everyone had a great time. I wanted to get a picture of Milton but they were late getting to the golf course and he became tired so had to leave for home when they finished. Milton’s son-in-law played with us plus the son and daughter in-law of our Minister Carl Thompson. These are fun times and this church is fairly small but a very friendly group.
