Amy"Jo" Casner (she prefers to be called Jo but will answer to AmyJo) contacted me because I posted that my ferret was a bit short in the fur department.

"I came up with the Ferret WarmUp Jacket for fur challenged ferrets," said Jo.

Her first venture in creating ferret clothing, was when a friend was looking for military fatigues, so that her friend's ferret Polar Bear could greet her daddy properly, when he returned from Iraq. Jo and her friend looked for such an outfit, but found the market seriously wanting.

"Most of what I saw was cartoonish or really off the mark," said Jo.

So with the help of a friend, who is retired army, she designed fatigues.

"I designed the Military Uniform that is on my Etsy shop and as they say 'I never looked back.'"

As I mentioned before, Jo contacted me because I had a fur challenged ferret. It was sweet of her to offer to send my ferret clothing so my ferret wouldn't freeze. I told her I would be delighted to review her clothing line and present the results in an article.

According to law, I have to specify, I received three articles of ferret clothing free of charge from Amy Jo Casner. I will review the articles of clothing with no prejudice one way or the other. In fact, this is the first time I have ever accepted any item free of charge.


This is my ferret Quinn checking out the new clothing items.

Cedramoon is the bald ferret. However, she is a bit under the weather and though it is supposedly spring in South Dakota, it is cold and suppose to snow yet again tomorrow. I didn't want to stress Cedra. Quinn is a lousy clothing model and trying to get her into clothes was near impossible. Though, she delighted in the shopping part.









Quinn's favorite appeared to be the Red Hawaiian Ferret Shirt ($8.00)

According to, the Enlightened Ferret website,

"This shirt is reminiscent of the type of shirts Magnum P.I. wore throughout the series. Made from a cotton blend the shirt features the setting sun on the back and shadow cloaked palm trees on the front.

The shirt also has a Velcro(r) front closure.

I found the quality of the shirt to be very good. My only beef would be a few very short strands of thread that should have been snipped. The craftsmanship is very good, the material excellent, and it is just downright cute. The Velcro front allows for the Hawaiian Ferret shirt to be put on the ferret fairly easily. The Velcro is securely stitched and not glued.

The second outfit is a Pink Glittering Diva Ferret WarmUp Jacket.
The material is a warm soft flannel. When the clothing packet first came in mail I put the jacket on Cedramoon and it did cover her quite well, certainly enough to help her retain body heat. I could feel the difference.

Again the quality is very good, no thread ends at all on this one. The Velcro is firmly sewed down the front and not glued. All the seams are sewn neatly and securely sewn. The pink flannel material has adorable butterflies, hearts, and flowers in contrasting glittery silver.

The third item I received was a darling little dress with lace around the waist and sleeves. This sweet dress is a representation of the custom orders Jo makes.



Of the three articles of ferret clothing this dress is my favorite. The dress is just downright cute. Again, excellent quality in materials and craftsmanship. The shipping costs are very reasonable. None of that shipping and handling nonsense that is more expensive than the original item you wanted to buy. I deplore that!
