The FBI's Endangered Child Alert Program
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has an Endangered Child Alert Program. In this program the FBI uses a reverse approach to identify individuals who may have information pertinent to a specific case involving minors being exploited or abused. These individuals have yet to be identified and are referred to as unknown individuals or unknown suspects. They are called John Doe’s followed by a number. You can help the FBI identify these individuals by looking at the pictures posted on the FBI's Endangered Child Alert Program.
Included in the pictures are facial shots of each individual, any unusual clothing, bedding, or jewelry. Also, permanent identifying marks such as tattoos, moles, burns, scars, deformities or birth marks. Additional pictures may include houses, pools, vehicles or other items that may be associated with a specific individual that may help family, friends, or coworkers recognize the identity of the individual.
The FBI is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying these individuals because a child or children are considered endangered. Endangered could mean the child or children are being exploited, molested, or used for pictures or movies involving minors. There are so many ways to hurt children.
John Doe 23 and John Doe 24 are unknown individuals who according to the FBI website “may have critical information pertaining to the identity of a child victim in an ongoing exploitation investigation.”
John Doe 18 is an unknown suspect who according to the FBI website “may be involved with child exploitation and the sexual abuse of a minor.”
John Doe 19 is an unknown suspect who according to the FBI website “may be involved with the attempted exploitation of children and the sexual abuse of a minor.”
John Doe 13 is an unknown suspect who according to the FBI website includes images of this person “sexually abusing a young girl.”
John Doe 17 is an unknown suspect who according to the FBI website “may be involved with the transportation of child pictures by means of a computer.”
John Doe 8 is an unknown suspect who according to the FBI website “show images of this person abusing a young girl were found in a video on the Internet in May of 2005.”
John Doe 5 is an unknown suspect who according to the FBI website “show images of this person abusing young children were found on the Internet.”
Please if you recognize any of the individuals featured on the FBI’s Endangered Child Alert Program call authorities immediately. You may be saving a child’s life. You may be helping to reunite a missing child with his or her family. Children deserve to be children, not objects used by adults for sexual gratification.
