Living A Life Of Purpose
Everybody has a purpose. But what if you are not sure what it is? Even better how would you explain to your daughter what her purpose is? Especially since children naturally wonder where they come from or why they’re here. Find out your daughters purpose and along the way see what yours is!
Owning who you are starts with knowing who you are.
Help by encouraging your daughter to appreciate everything that comes along in life. Show her the beauty in life whether it is good or bad. Encourage her to enjoy the simple things we often take for granted.
Let her make choices and you provide boundaries. Show her that there are reactions to her actions. Let her fall so that she can see how some choices affect her outcome – even if it’s not good.
Praise her when necessary so that she can see that what she does matters. Encourage her to praise herself. This will allow her to succeed without waiting for approval.
Helping your daughter develop self-confidence, love for self and choice making opportunities was the outcome. If you look closely you have given her all necessary components to become self-sufficient. And you were able to pick up a few pointers yourself.
Some people go through their whole life not knowing what their purpose in life is. With life’s ups and downs, along with its mixture of joys and sorrows it leaves you wondering about your purpose. I think we have given a good start in the direction of understanding self better along with some purpose. I call it a self-checkup.
Face your fear of the unknown. Open yourself to a world of possibilities. Your daughter will follow your lead. A self-confident, peacefully driven adult is what she will become.
Have your daughter right a letter to self, it should read. “You are awesome, strong, confident, and marvelous. You are also loved, smart and special. I just wanted to remind you – love me.”
Live everyday with joy because you can. Your daughter must understand that life is waiting for her to discover it. Encourage her to. Love yourself so that you can love others. Be confident in yourself so that you can be sure of your choices. Respect yourself so that you can respect others. And above all, have faith in yourself so that so that you can live a life of purpose.
