EAS Carb Control Strawberry Cream Shake
The EAS Carb Control Strawberry Cream Shake is a protein shake which provides 17g protein and 2.5g net carbs. Here's the details on what it's like.
First, I'll start by saying that I adore the EAS chocolate shake version. I have that every morning for breakfast. So I'm a firm believer in the EAS shakes in general. They are tasty, easy to use, and provide good nutrition.
I find the strawberry cream to be OK tasting. It's sort of as if the vanilla creme version had some strawberry flavoring added to it. My boyfriend compares it with strawberry Quik but thicker. If you're a fan of strawberry then certainly this could be your favorite of the set. For me, the chocolate wins :). But that's just my taste buds.
The current formulation provides:
17g protein
2.5g net carbs
100 calories
25mg cholesterol
320mg sodium
370mg potassium
under 1g fiber
And then it has 20%-40% of most vitamins. I enjoy that it has vitamins, but I have actual multivitamins each day so I don't rely on the shake to fill that purpose for me.
The protein is coming from both soy protein and whey protein. There is sucralose in this, for those who are allergic.
I like that they're easy to carry in their foil box containers. My boyfriend keeps some in his car for emergency food. I keep a case on the shelf and pull one out when it's breakfast time. I simply pour over ice and enjoy.
Note that you should always go with what the package says, not what the EAS website says. For example right now the EAS website says this very option has 3g of fat and 470mg of potassium.
Are there any down sides? I really wish there was a way to recycle the foil containers. I'm filling my trash bag with them. I try to compost and recycle as much as I can. Yes I know a tiny number of municipalities recycle the foil containers, but mine doesn't.
Still, other than that I recommend the EAS shakes. They're healthy, convenient, and they tide you over until you are ready for an actual meal.
I purchased this shake with my own funds in order to do this review.
