What Makes A Fine Fragrance, A Fine Fragrance?
What makes a fine fragrance a fine fragrance? Great question and the answer lies somewhere in keywords like designer, packaging, celebrity and classic brands.
It’s been said that the fine fragrance segment of the perfume industry is like a cat with nine lives, it always lands on its feet.
After facing the effects of the recession in past years, it seems as though you are once again treating yourself to fine fragrances.
Designer fragrances account for nearly three quarters of the total perfume market. It had major growth because of your support for fragrances like Coco Mademoiselle, Light Blue, Chanel No.5 and Flowerbomb.
Celebrity in Your Fragrance
It also seems as though you like celebrity endorsement as part of your perfume mix.
Brad Pitt is the first male face for Chanel No 5. Jon Bon Jovi is the face of Avon and Coty has just recently launched Closer by Halle Berry.
Halle Berry wanted to create a unique fragrance for women that would also appeal to men. She brought in Master perfumer Jacque Cavalier and he created for her a luscious feminine blend of violet flowers and mimosa.
Beyoncé introduced Midnight Heat. It’s being billed as tempting and sexy, a sultry, sensual fragrance. At the heart of this fragrance is the exotic purple mokara orchid accompanied by black tulip and purple peony. Its base is built upon warm amber, patchouli and sandalwood.
Fashion and Fine Fragrance
Fashion houses are making more affordable perfumes, after all not everyone wants to pay $2000 for a Gucci dress but you “might” spend $63 for a bottle of Gucci Premiere eau de parfum.
Michael Kors has introduced the Rose Edition with an exclusive “signature” bouquet. It consists of tuberose, rose centifolia, muguet, peony and gardenia. Added to its essence are pink pepper, water lily, raspberry and michelia.
The classic DKNY Be Delicious got a makeover and the new version is Be Delicious Eau so Intense. It is being billed as resembling “the first mouthwatering bite of a fresh picked apple.”
I’d tried too many perfumes to add another one to my palette, so I can’t give you feedback on this one.
Beauty and Fragrance
Estee Lauder has created the first unisex fragrance specifically for the Middle Eastern consumer in the US. Wood Mystique is a direct response to Middle Eastern consumers’ desire for a lavish, elegant fragrance that offers you a perfume of luxury and a lingering scented trail as a hidden communicator of quality and good taste.
Fine fragrances are often labeled as such because of celebrity endorsements but a true fine fragrance will be known by its ability to take you into a world of pure ecstasy.
The rich blend of flower essence, attars, absolutes and sheer alchemy will tell your nose what a fine fragrance means to you.
