Dr. Seuss - A List of Dr Seuss Books
September 24, 1991 was a sad, sad day with the passing of an American favorite author and illustrator Dr. Seuss. He was a favorite award-winning and best-selling writer of children’s books. The imaginative characters in Dr. Seuss story books continue to enchant everyone: infants, toddlers, preschool and elementary kids, and older. In fact, even adults enjoy Dr. Seuss literature. I can remember spending hours reading to my children the amazing stories from Dr. Seuss – their favorite was ”There’s a Wocket in my Pocket!” published in 1974 when my oldest child was born.
Babies and tots love the pace of the rhyming verse. Young elementary school children enjoy the opportunity to read the stories independently. The simple words are exactly what is needed for the beginning reader.
I am providing this alphabetical list of all Dr. Seuss books in print as a guide for parents and grandparents as an introduction to the world of Dr. Seuss. Many of Dr. Seuss classic books are also available on CD and DVD – consider them for birthday gifts, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Christmas books for young children.
