It's that time of the year when holiday gift ideas begin to move to the front of your thinking process, for some of you at least. Holiday gift ideas don't have to be relegated to perfumes or soaps. A gift tin of cookies and cupcakes make great gifts.
Holiday Scented Gifts for Halloween
We're currently into the approach of Halloween. But when it comes to scents and scented gifts, what would Halloween smell like? Well ... it is fall after all, so cinnamon would be a great aroma to have misting through the air of your dungeon.
A cinnamon scented broomstick at your front door is a great home decor piece. Cinnamon apple cider, cinnamon spiced cupcakes and cinnamon pumpkin cookies make great munchies for your Halloween party but they also make great give-a-ways to your guest.
Thanksgiving and its Holiday Aromas as Gifts
What scented aromas does Thanksgiving bring to the table? Cranberries, sage, brown sugar, vanilla, sweet potatoes and pumpkin make their way to the top of the list for Holiday scents.
When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of food scents that surround the holiday. Sage in you stuffing recipes, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in sweet potato and pumpkin pies.
But guess what? Brown sugar makes a wonderful body scrub!
Holiday Gift Items For Christmas
I don't know about you, but from what I can remember, Christmas not only brings in the food scents but scented gift items rule when it comes to this time of the year.
Perfumes, bath salts, spray mist and candles are all part of the gift ideas that infiltrate department stores, pharmacies and craft fairs, when it comes to holiday gift giving ideas.
Here's a great scent recipe for a perfume and perfume oil: (compliments of Nancy Booth)
2 drops allspice essential oil
4 drops cinnamon essential oil
8 drops sweet orange essential oil
16 drops vanilla fragrance oil
For perfumes you would fill a sterilized 1 ounce glass bottle with 2 teaspoon of vodka and add the scented oils in the order given above. There are also premixed perfume spray products that can be used to make a perfume mist.
For perfume oils you would fill a sterilized 2 glass bottle with 2 teaspoon jojoba oil, apricot kernel oil, or sweet almond oil. Add the scented oils in the order given above.
If you'll notice, the first three oils are true essential oils and the last ingredient is fragrance oil. Yes ... you can blend essential oils with synthetics and still accomplish what you want in a scent. But know that when you keep your perfume blend pure it will last longer on your body.
