American Girl - Magazine Review
I bought this magazine to see if it was the quality and message I would like to share with my granddaughters.
In this issue I found presented:
Learn about five real girls who had amazing situations:
1. Reading out a hurricane - imagine how scary that must have been?
2. Being nominated for an Academy Award - wow! what an honor
3. Attend a presidential award - amazing!
4. Dial 911 when her mom gets hurt - she kept a level head on her shoulders
5. Be the only girl on an all boys team - this often happened to one of my daughters
Learn about being a friend by examining your friendship style, and learning how important it is. Learn options to stand up and make a person stop picking on you: what words to say, how to stand up for yourself and others and how to stay strong. There is a two month calendar spread with ideas of activities, projects, recipes, sports and games.
Do you need advice or have advice – write to American Girl Magazine: Help
Read the questions and answers and you may find answers to some of your own questions. Do you have a true story to share about an experience in your life? Write to them and be sure to decorate your envelope. Each issue shows an envelope decorated by a young reader and sent in with their true story.
Read about other girls in American Girls Magazine, it’s filled with everything girls love: crafts, recipes, surveys, and holiday ideas. It was nice to see what's going on with other girls across America and to feel connected across this great country.
This is a positive magazine for girls and covers timely and pertinent topics. I will gladly give a subscription of this magazine to one of my granddaughters.
Note:I bought a copy at the grocery store.
