Unsolved Child Murder Saint Louis 1983
There is an unidentified child who was brutally murdered in the city of Saint Louis Missouri in the winter of 1983. She is known as the Saint Louis Jane Doe. Her identity has been a mystery from the moment her headless torso was discovered in the basement of an abandoned multiple dwelling building located in the 5600 block of Clemens Avenue.
Jane Doe is a young black female, approximately four feet ten inches tall, and weighing around 70 pounds. Her complexion described as medium. She was wearing a pale yellow long sleeve V-neck sweater and there were two coats of red nail polish on her fingernails. The coroner described her as well-nourished. There are no obvious deformities; scars, tattoos or other distinguishing marks on her body that could help identify her.
She was sexually assaulted before she died. Her hands were tied behind her back, with a red and white nylon type rope. The coroner ruled her death a homicide, the cause of death determined to be strangulation. Her head has never been located. No one has ever reported her missing or come looking for her. How does a mother not look for her child? How could anyone sexually assault and then behead a little girl?
There was no evidence of previous physical abuse or injuries prior to the ones she received prior to or in the process of her murder. She was found face down in the basement furnace room of an apartment building located at 5635 Clemens Avenue by two men looking for scrap metal. Authorities believe she was killed and beheaded with a large blade knife in a different location from where her body was found. This conclusion was a result of how little blood was found in the immediate area of her body.
Sadly, despite an intensive investigation into her murder, authorities have no clue as to who she is or where she lived. Her murder remains unsolved. Her identity remains a mystery. Her murderer remains elusive. This has essentially been a cold case from the moment her body was discovered. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who studies cold cases of unsolved murders, she is the youngest person to be decapitated in the country. Authorities believe she is not from the Saint Louis area and is probably not even from Missouri.
Yet, this case remains open and active. Someone out there knows what happened to this little girl back in 1983. That person or people need to come forward and help authorities identify her killer. No child deserves to alone and scared and left in an abandoned building in the basement like trash. She is an unidentified little girl who deserves to have her name and identity returned to her. Her murderer deserves to be held accountable for ending the life of a beautiful child.
