Installation - Biggest Loser SlimCoach
The installation process for the Biggest Loser SlimCoach is fairly straightforward. Here is how you get your Biggest Loser SlimCoach installed and set up.
The first critical thing is that you should NOT connect your device until you download the software. The card included in your setup package should contain the URL and ID code associated with your unit. You absolutely need that ID code in order to do anything, so if you're missing the card, you need to contact them immediately to get that straightened out.
Once you download the software - they have Windows and Mac versions - it installs a Sync Manager which controls the connection between your device and their website. This is an always-running app that you can find in the little icons in the bottom right of your desktop.
When the Sync Manager is installed, it'll tell you to now connect your device. It's time to plug it in!
On to the account creation. You give it a username and password, your height and weight, all the standard sorts of things to track your health. At this point you must choose a fitness style. You can choose to lose weight or to stay healthy. If you lose weight you MUST choose a category - 1 pound a week, 2 pounds a week, 3 pounds a week, and 4 pounds a week. Once you choose a category it seems you're fairly stuck with it. You're put into a community group for that category and you can't see other groups nor change groups. So choose carefully.
The system claims you must eat a LOW FAT diet which I find fairly annoying for obvious reasons :) But don't worry. This is just their biased default. Once you get into the system you can customize your meal plan. Still, there is no reason for them to be pushing low fat. They could just say "balanced diet".
I have this sync manager installed on multiple systems so you can definitely do that. It doesn't care. All data is stored on their website.
Your starting values will be wacky for the first week. Just accept that. Their system takes about 7-8 days before it starts accurately reporting your weekly totals, your goal progress, and so on.
