Zakiya Randall is in the News
I have Zakiya on my Facebook and she announced the she will be on the Golf Channel show the “Big Break Atlantis” in May. I was so excited to hear this and sent her a good luck and that I will be sure to be watching this show in May. I have known Zakyia since 2006 and now she is known as just “Z”. Zakiya is an exceptional golfer and she was 15 years old when I first started writing about her. She will be the youngest competitor in this shoot out and I am happy for her as she has been trying to break into the Ladies Pro Golf Association for these many years.
I received information about Z back in 2006 and began writing to her and writing about her here on my golf web site. She is from Atlanta, Georgia and had won many Junior Golf Tournaments is that area. I checked out her web site and many of her pictures and trophies. She had been playing golf for the past four years starting at age 11 and was involved in tennis before that. This was very impressive to me and knew she would be a golfer to watch. Her web site today is updated as to what she has been doing over these past years. Great pictures so check her out.
Om 2008 she joined the Duramed Futures Tour on the Path to the LPGA. This group includes the up and coming golfers from around the world and play tournaments around America. This is good training for young golfers as the top winners of this group at the end of the year go on to join the Ladies Pro Golfers Association. This type of golfer needs backers as one has to move to each state where these tournaments are held. They also do not pay large sums to the winners so it can get very expensive to hit all of these events throughout the summer.
Zakiya being chosen to play in this contest was one of twelve finalists on “Big Break Atlantis” showing on the Golf Channel. This contest is being filmed in the Bahamas Paradise Island, Atlantis and will be shown on television beginning on May 14, 2012. Zakiya is one of the youngest of the finalist for this event so I am looking forward to watching “Z” as she competes in this great event. Seeing all the pictures of Zakiya on her web site shows her in some attractive clothing with her signature “Z” on her golf outfits and hats. Having a line of clothing and golf accessories is a big plus for her. I hope many of my readers will put this date on your calendar to be sure to tune into the Golf Channel on May 14th and watch Z and the other contestants on the Big Break show.
