Sands of Destruction

Sands of Destruction
Sands of Destruction is an anime series based on a Nintendo DS game.

The series takes place in a fictional world that is ruled by anthropomorphic beings; these beings are known as the Ferals. This world almost looks like it could have come out of the middle ages. However, there are guns and boats that are seen in the first episode that wouldn't have existed during that time period.

Overall, the anthropomorphic beings weren't too bad; the only real exception to this would have been the cat king. The Humans who inhabit this world live as slaves, but a group calling itself the World Destruction Committee has risen up and intends to destroy the world in rebellion. The Ferals have formed their own group, the World Salvation Committee.

Kyrie Illunis is the male protagonist. He's a mild young man who is rather cowardly and enjoys cooking; however, he also possesses mysterious destructive power, and the World Destruction Committee has taken an interest in him. Over the course of the series, Kyrie develops a romantic interest in Morte.

Morte Urshela is the 16-year-old female protagonist, and she wields an enormous blade as her weapon. She holds the destruct code that can destroy the world, and she is also the initial member of the World Destruction Committee. She's gruff, hard for other people to get along with, and she doesn't care about Ferals or humans; all she wants is for the world to end.

Toppy Toplan is a Feral bounty hunter who looks a lot like a teddy bear. He serves as Kyrie's mentor, and ends up joining the World Destruction Committee. Over the course of the series, the trio meets Agan Madoru, Lia Dragunel, and Nadja Gref.

I watched the English dub of the first episode of Sands of Destruction. When it comes to the visual content, I can only think of a couple of scenes that had shots that could be seen as having sexual innuendo in them. Also, there really wasn't any blood visible on the screen during the fights that appeared in this episode. When it came to the actual English dub, I don't recall any offensive language appearing in the episode.

While I didn't find anything too terribly offensive in Sands of Destruction, I would be hesitant to recommend it for young viewers. Personally, I would recommend Sands of Destruction to anime fans who are 12 or 13 years of age and older.
