Newman's Own Salsa

Newman's Own Salsa
Sometimes it's important for a healthy snack to be quick and easy. Newman's Own Salsa lets you grab a jar off a shelf, twist the lid, and instantly have food ready. Newman's Own Salsa is tasty and healthy.

I like Newman's Own brand because all profits go to charity. That seems wonderful to me. But even beyond that, the stuff is tasty and good for you, too!

The ingredient list is all natural. Tomatoes, chili peppers, bell peppers, onions, cilantro, garlic, and so on. You can identify every ingredients! Nothing bizarre or unnatural in here. It's just like you would make at home.

The nutrition is great too. A serving of 2 Tablespoons has 10 calories, 2g of carbs of which about 1g is fiber, with no fats at all, no cholesterol, and 4% of your vitamin A. I'll note that there is 4% of your sodium in here - 105mg. That's not a ton, and it's normal in a salsa, but if you're sensitive to salt it means you shouldn't eat the entire jar in one sitting.

Few people would just sit down with a jar of salsa and a spoon, so part of what you consider here is the thing you'll be eating the salsa with. If you have a low carb tortilla wrap you can quickly create a burrito type of roll with cheese and lettuce. You can mix it in with a variety of veggies. Maybe eat the salsa with zucchini slices.

When I want a treat I get my hands on some Flax chips. Flax chips are shaped like tortilla chips but have far better carb and nutritional values. This could either be easy or tricky for you, depending on what stores are near you. For a long while I could only get my chips online, and then even that became hard to find. But then luckily a store near me began to carry them so it because quite easy.

The key here is to avoid eating "regular chips" because those are NOT good for you no matter what diet you follow. Nobody recommends eating piles of starch laden in trans fats. So if you do go the chips route with your salsa, read the nutrition label and know what you are ingesting.

So that all being said, this salsa is delicious, it's full of healthy ingredients, and I definitely recommend getting your daily dose of cilantro and garlic. So keep some jars of this on your shelf, and help a good cause!
