Rideback is an anime series based on a manga created by Tetsuro Kasahara.

The main character of the series is a girl named Rin Ogata. Her mother was a talented dancer, so it was expected that Rin would follow in her footsteps, especially since Rin had participated in dancing competitions at a young age. At the beginning of the first episode, Rin is performing in her first lead role in a ballet. However, Rin ends up injuring her left foot during the performance, and she decides to stop dancing.

Instead, Rin enrolls at Musashino University, where she is in the theater department. One day, she stumbles into a club building, while looking for somewhere to take shelter when it really starts to rain outside. She comes across a strange looking motorcycle while exploring her surroundings. One of the members of the club sees her, and explains that the vehicle is a "Rideback." While trying out the Rideback, it goes out of control; however, Rin discovers that her ballet skills make her a natural born Rideback rider, as these skills help her with balance and finesse.

In the series, an organization called the Global Government Plan, which is known as GGP for short, has taken control of the world. However, as Rin herself admitted at the beginning of the first episode, she hadn't really noticed that the world had changed; she was so focused on dancing and the feelings she felt while dancing, that she was basically oblivious to what was going on around her.

Whenever the Rideback vehicle appears, computer animation is used for the vehicle. While I normally am not a huge fan of mixing computer animation and traditional animation, it actually works to a good effect in this instance. The computer animation for the Rideback vehicle helps to emphasize that this is a futuristic series, and it gives the vehicle a more unique feel in comparison to its surroundings. As for the traditional animation, it has a realistic look to it that works for the drama aspect of the storytelling for the series.

Visually, I didn't see anything offensive in Rideback. While there is some dialogue that suggests that there could be "fanserive" panty shots, you really didn't see the panty shots very much. Personally, I would recommend Rideback to anime viewers who are 14 or 15 years of age and older.
