Basic Blocks PLUS.....
Basic Blocks PLUS... is a series of instructions to make traditional 12" block patterns PLUS instructions for making the same block in 6", 8" or 10" dimensions.
This set of instructions is for the Square in a Square blockThe Square in a Square block has been around for ages, and is a great block to use if you wish to highlight your centre fabric.

The Square in a Square block is a very simple block to make, and is a pleasing pattern when used with two colors only. For Example:
Cutting Instructions
Cutting Instructions for making a 6” block
Template A: 1 x 4 3/4" square in Yellow Fabric
Template B: 2 x 3 7/8" square in Pink Fabric and cut crosswise twice to make 4 triangles
Cutting Instructions for making a 8" block
Template A: 1 x 6 1/8 " square in Yellow Fabric
Template B: 2 x 4 7/8" square in Pink Fabric and cut crosswise twice to make 4 triangles
Cutting Instructions for making a 10" block
Template A: 1 x 7 5/8” square in Yellow Fabric
Template B: 2 x 5 7/8” square in Pink Fabric and cut crosswise twice to make 4 triangles
Cutting Instructions for making a 12" block
Template A: 1 x 9" square in Yellow Fabric
Template B: 2 x 6 7/8" square in Pink Fabric and cut crosswise twice to make 4 triangles
Sewing Instructions
Step 1: Stitch one template B triangle to each side of the template A square using a ¼” seam allowance.
