This is Stacy's unplanned pregnancy story:

I had gotten into a relationship right after I graduated college. I was 22 years old and thought I had the world by the tail... new job, new apartment, I was looking into leasing a new car and had just taken a girls' weekend out to Las Vegas. Life was so good and I was on fire.

When the pregnancy test came back positive, I literally could not believe it. I had been dating this man for three months, and I'm embarrassed to say it wasn't even an exclusive relationship. We had a quiet lunch date that weekend and I told him.

I had thought he would bolt when he found out, but his very first reaction was to ask me to move in with him. I turned him down, but we stayed together and even considered engagement for a few months. He attended doctor visits with me and saw the ultrasound. He also helped me register for my baby shower and set up the crib in my apartment. Ultimately, it didn't work out and we ended our relationship amicably, but our good ending helped us solidify our commitment as co-parents.

The pregnancy was healthy and fairly boring, which is a good thing. Going through it as a single mother was hard - I had to make BIG decisions for someone else now - but I'm glad I did it! Looking back, I never considered abortion, even in the face of all the uncertainty. Now I have my sweet, little angel in a baby blanket and I don't regret a minute of it.

I'm not as far in my career as I would like to be, and my ex isn't as involved as I had hoped, but the tradeoff is worth it and I love my child. Please don't consider abortion; love your child instead by keeping him/her or going through an adoption.
