Smarter Carb Chocolate Biscotti
Smarter Carb biscotti come in a range of flavors and only have 0g or 1g of carbs! They are dairy free, gluten free, wheat free and sugar free.
We bought three flavors to test. The first was chocolate covered biscotti, at only 1g net carbs. The outer chocolate coating was perfect - a smooth layer of dark chocolate around nice, crunchy biscuit. Very flavorful!
Next, the chocolate chip biscotti. This had a mild taste, with a good texture and gentle chocolate flavors. This was perfect for a Splenda hot cocoa, so the biscotti soaked up the chocolate flavors without competing.
Finally, the chocolate fudge chip biscotti. This was a chocolate biscotti rather than a vanilla one. There were bits of chocolate in it, nothing too strong. This was tasty on its own and also with a warm drink.
I really enjoyed all three, and the chocolate covered one was my favorite. I liked that combination of smooth outer dark chocolate and mild, crunchy inner biscotti.
There are 21 biscotti per package, quite enough for a group of people to enjoy while sitting around and enjoying drinks. They're around $3.80 per box, so these are in the same price range as other premium cookies. I really found them well worth it.
If I have any complaints about these cookies, it's that they come in a stiff plastic bag that, once opened, really doesn't close again. So you'll want to put any leftovers into ziplock bags to keep them nice and fresh until you finish them up!
