Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993) Woody Allen, Diane Keaton, Alan Alda, Anjelica Huston
Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993) a comedy/mystery is a throw back to those 1930s and 40s witty movies. Woody Allen stars in this comic murder mystery along with Diane Keaton, Alan Alda and Anjelica Huston.

Woody Allen and Diane Keaton (Larry and Carol Lipton) are a married couple and have just met an older couple Paul and Lillian House, who are their apartment neighbors. The wife dies shortly after meeting the couple and Carol (Diane Keaton) suspects murderous foul play. She sets out to prove it and wants her husband Larry to help her. Larry wants to be left alone and wants his wife to mind her own business and stay "the detective game." That does not deter her, instead she enlists the help of their good friend Ted, played by wonderfully by Alan Alda, to prove that Mr. House did indeed kill his wife. At one point she even breaks into the widower’s apartment to look for clues of murder. Of course he comes home while Diane is still there. (Sounds like Rear Window?) This is a fun movie. Diane Keaton and Woody Allen do have a special chemistry that works like a charm. Remember Allen and Keaton in the romantic comedy Annie Hall (1977). Keaton portrayed the quirky Annie Hall character. Allen was shy neurotic Alvy Singer, a New York comedian trying to make in the business.

As always with Woody Allen movies, the Manhattan Murder Mystery characters are slightly neurotic and live on the high end of life. If you love Woody Allen, take some time to rent the movie. It is so 'Woody' that you will be sorry you missed it earlier. Woody Allen's Manhattan Murder Mystery is also available from Amazon.
