Seems like there will always be disaster movies and Supernova on The Hallmark Channel caught my attention late last night. Supernova’s premise is that our sun is older than we thought it was and therefore one Nobel Prize winning scientist Dr. Austin Sheppard played by Peter Fonda has figured it out. Don’t expect him to run around like Chicken Little yelling “the sky is falling,” instead he sends a few select other scientists emails.
Luke Perry stars as an scientist Christopher Richardson that works with Dr. Sheppard character who’s wife played by Eliza Bennett has issues with a serial killerwho tortured her and fears for the safety of her and her daughter, even thought the serial killer is behind bars.
Another interesting character is Agent Lisa Delgado played by Tia Carrera a government agent called in to gather the scientist sent the emails and Dr. Christopher Richardson . She plays a tough non bending play by the rules government agent, until it comes done to the wire and her humanity kicks in.
Emma Samms plays an uncredited part as an English Barbara Walters reporter that was to interview b>Dr. Sheppard and with the help on one of his assistants figure out what exactly is happening.
Then imagine underground cities planned for a major disaster or war, government agents planning who will be allowed to live, all secretly of course. Agent Delgado helps Christopher Richardson escape the underground city when she finds out that her family and his will not be allowed to be rescued. Will they get to his wife and daughter in time and rescue them from the serial killer and the supernova?
