Best Times to End an Auction

Best Times to End an Auction

If you've ever sold anything on eBay, you'll know that there is no definite answer on ensuring that your items always sell.  However, there are certain key times that are better to list your auctions so that they will end when the most buyers are shopping. This will give your auction item the most viewers and the best possible chances at selling.

You would not want to end your auction at 2:00am in the morning.  Why? Because there are not going to be many people up at 2:00am cruising through auction listings.  Since eBay defaults listings by the ones that are ending first, the last few minutes of your auction are usually the busiest.

Deciding the time of day, you want to list depends a lot of the type of buyers  you are trying to reach.  If you item is typically targeted to working people, you will want to have your item end around 6:00pm -9:00pm.

That doesn't mean that you will need to wait until 6:00pm to list your items.  eBay has a great feature that allows you to schedule a day and time to start an auction.  There is an additional charge of .10 for this, however, in my opinion, the convenience  is well worth the extra dime.  With the scheduled listing feature, you can select a day and time up to 3 weeks in advance, down to 15-minute increments.  Keep in mind that the start time on eBay is Pacific Time.  This means that if you want to target 9:00pm on the East Coast, you will want to have your auction begin around 6:00pm on eBay

You will probably find that it is easiest for you to maintain your listings, if you always have them end around the same day and time.
