The N-Gage Starter kit costs around $40 and is recommended to go with your brand new n-gage purchase. Just what is involved in this kit, and is it worth it?

The main reason I got the N-Gage starter kit was for the protective case. Up until now the only thing I had to 'store' my N-Gage in was a sock, which was OK for our week-long cross country motorcycle trip but not entirely ideal. As you might imagine.

So when we were planning a trip for a week in Europe, I bought this instead. The case that comes with this kit is GREAT. It's a strong leather back, with a clear plastic front so you can use the N-Gage while it's in its case. There are holes in the case for the various ports so you can plug it in to recharge it, or plug in your headphones or other adaptors. You can even use its buttons through the front case if you want.

There's a small pocket in back for change or IDs, and there are leather pouches within the case for four games. No worry of them being lost, they're sealed in! It comes with both a D-Ring and a strap for carrying.

As if that wasn't great enough. you also get a car adaptor kit which is GREAT. The Europe trip involved driving many hours each day, and the N-Gage stayed fully powered while we went. Perfect for any road trip.

There's even a new backplate thrown in. The standard backplate is smooth plastic and while it does the job, it's not the best when you're playing a high-pace game. The new backplate, which is red, is a "soft touch" construction which means it's much easier to hold onto while playing the games.

Highly recommended for any N-Gage fan!
