Social Media Contests
Social media websites have hundreds if not thousands of opportunities to win prizes and cash every day. Below is a collection of links to descriptions of contests, giveaways and sweepstakes at these sites.
Facebook: This site is popular for business promotion and many of your favorite brands will have occasional giveways. You will also find movie, television and music stars sponsoring contests on their pages. Be careful with any popular site though as you may be a target of the lottery scam. Google+: Google+ is Google's answer to Facebook but it's not quite so liberal with the ability to run contests on the site. In fact, there are strict rules against it. Learn more Google+ and Contests here.
Pinterest: At Pinterest you can 'pin' all your favorite things from the internet on boards you create based on your interests. It's also becoming a regular practice for sponsors to ask you to pin their contest as an entry form. Learn more at Three Tips for Entering Pinterest Sweepstakes.
Twitter: While you're tweeting all the latest gossip to your friends, why not enter a contest or two? The Twitter format allows for less characters typed in posts than other social media sites but you can post multiple times. Authors, bloggers, artists and other businesses run their own promotions as well as large companies. Learn more at Twitter Sweepstakes and Giveaways and Tips for Running a Twitter Sweepstakes.
This list will be updated with new articles about other social media sites as I write them.
Good luck!
