Salem Witch Trials Webquest

Salem Witch Trials Webquest

Don't reinvent the wheel! Use this wonderfully designed webquest!

October presents a wonderful opportunity to stretch student's minds. An excellent way to spark thinking, build research, public speaking, and debate skills is through studying the Salem Witch Trials. By taking a dark moment in American history we can look at the issues of scapegoating, mass hysteria, the importance of law and justice, and prejudice.

An excellent way to involve students is through an interactive webquest. Rather than inventing your own, I recommend that you look at this excellent Salem Witch Trials site. This WebQuest was created by Nicole Ledoux.

The site was awarded a Silver Webdirect Award. This honor is given to only the best webquests. With good reason. The design is attractive to students, easy to navigate, has clear instructions and goals. Helpful to teachers is the grading rubric. Ms. Ledoux has included a matrix for grading individuals and groups.
