Tiny Chocolate Covered Cakes and Fruit Kabobs
Cool down with fresh fruit and chocolate after a fiery feast. This Chocolate Covered Cakes and Fruit Kabobs recipe makes a big hit with grown ups and kids. This easy to prepare treat starts with store bought pound cake so you know it's easy to make.
1 package (12-oz.) NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
24 bite-size pieces pound cake
24 bite-size pieces fresh fruit or berries, (pineapple, banana, melon, strawberries)
Strawberry Sauce
4. 1 can (10-oz.) frozen strawberries in syrup, thawed
3 tablespoons or more sugar
To Make the Kabobs
Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
1.Microwave morsels and vegetable shortening in a medium, microwave-safe bowl on high (100%) power for 1 minute; stir.
2. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Dip cake pieces into chocolate mixture; shake off excess.
3. Place on prepared baking sheet; drizzle tops with additional chocolate. Refrigerate until set.
4. On skewers, alternately thread chocolate coated pieces of cake with pieces of fruit; refrigerate. Serve with Strawberry Sauce.
