Frizz Relief - Hair Product Review
I started my test with Retro~Chic Shampooing Potion. The brochure says that it is a formula, for everyday use, that gives color protection for natural or chemically enhanced hair. I found that the shampoo lathered nicely and left my hair feeling good and a bit conditioned.
Retro~Chic Conditioning Potion. The brochure says that it is designed to enrich hair with moisture, protect color and seal the cuticle – and that it contains a microencapsultion conditioning system.
This product rinsed out easily and left my hair feeling soft and conditioned.
I read on the brochure to see what microencapsultion entailed. It said that many plant based anti-oxidants and vitamins are known to prevent dryness, but they often tend to lose potency after the bottle is opened and exposed to the air. Retro~Chic International encapsulated three anti-oxidants, pomegranate extract, rosemary extract and vitamin E succinate. Tiny micro-balloons protect the anti-oxidants, extending the shelf life.Glazz is a leave-in treatment that is an alcohol free thermal protectant, reconstructor and conditioner. It is a blend of four silicones and amino-acid complex. The brochure told me that Glazz would leave my hair in good condition and frizz free. I was very interested because I’m always looking for frizz fighters.
After rinsing the conditioner from my hair and using a towel to remove excess moisture, I applied a dollop - about the size of a quarter - of Glazz. I combed it through and proceeded to dry my hair. The first thing that I noticed was that there was much less frizz. My hair smoothed out with the brush and blow dryer, making it very easy to finish with my flat iron. When I was finished styling my hair, it was soft, shiny and clean feeling. However, my hair seemed overly flat on the top. This would not be a problem for many women, but I like a little bit of fullness on top. I normally use only a very small amount of spray gel or styling foam on the top to add body, relying on the natural body to help keep the fullness in. The next time I shampooed my hair, I used Glazz only on the hair that I wanted perfectly straight – from eye-level down - and it worked perfectly. It would also work well if I used a firm hold styling foam or gel on top to keep the fullness in.
Glazz is an excellent frizz relief serum. I suggest Glazz for anyone who deals with frizzy hair, especially those with hair that is coarse and frizzy. If you have fine hair and are worried about your hair being too limp, use Glazz sparingly or use firm hold styling products in addition.
