Costa Rica Birding

Guest Author - Lisa Shea

It's great fun to take a trip that lets you enjoy yourself and bird at the same time. One of the birding paradises is Costa Rica!

Costa Rica is in Central America, right between Panama and Nicaragua. While neighboring countries might be a bit rough, Costa Rica is relatively calm and quiet, with high tourism appeal. It has jungles, beaches, volcanos, and is just about the size of West Virginia.

Costa Rica was in fact chosen the best honeymoon spot by Modern Bride! Its friendly atmosphere and unspoiled terrain make it the perfect place for fun birding adventures.

Costa Rica Travel Site
The official tourism site for Costa Rica gives you all the background you'll need on this tropical paradise.

Birding Escapes
This group handles everything from lodging to car rentals and can arrange tours to get you into specific bird habitats.

Costa Rica Gateway
Maps, photos, links to lodging and much more. This organization has been in business for over 15 years and knows where the birds are.
