Let's Get Packing
No matter what the time of year, travel planning can be a fun yet tedious process. Let me help you remove some of your stress by giving you a few pointers to help you streamline your vacation packing process.
When packing for a trip, this is the one and the only time that I can honestly say it’s not about what you want it’s about what you need. Take a little bit of time and find out about what your destination. Hit your local book store and pick up a couple of city guides. This will help you not only find out about the area, but it will also help you get an idea of what the weather will be like during your visit, which will be a very important factor for choosing your travel wardrobe. When confirming your hotel reservations be sure to find out your hotels amenities (i.e. dry cleaning), trust me this will be important if something happens to your special outfit.
Take a little time and create an itinerary, this will help you plan out your daily fashion with flare. Whether it’s biking, hiking, horseback riding, or dancing, your activity will have the ultimate influence on what you wear. This stuff may sound like child’s play, but trust me I have seen women travel with 8 bags on a 3 day trip, or try to have a day of shopping with 4 inch stilettos. Neither of which is a good idea. Remember when traveling style and comfort should go hand and hand.
Depending on where you’re going, your style needs can vary widely. Below are some of the things I feel are a must have no matter what the location or climate would be:
3 Pairs of shoes (comfort and style in mind)
A-line or Sundress
2 Pair of Trousers
3 Dressy tops
Jeans
4-6 T-Shirts
Dressy Skirt (Pencil with embroidery)
Bangles
1 Evening bag
1 Large bag
Favorite pair of shades
Umbrella
Sexy pair earrings (think dangles)
Jacket
While these things may vary a bit, this list can be used as a basic blue print that can be changed to fit your needs. We don't want to forget to keep the most important things to you in your carry on. Items like your documents, medications, contacts/glasses, jewelry, address book, toiletries, and your trusty make-up bag.
Packing for that long awaited vacation, business trip, or emergency getaway can be a cinch if you put a little time into it.
No matter where you go or what you do keep it simple and sexy.
