OK people, you should all know by now about the March to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on August 5to protest KISS’ exclusion. In this series, we’re talking to the planners behind this event. There’s no better person to speak to than Joe Apple. Joe was the one who had the initial idea of protesting the boys not being in the Hall. Read ahead and you’ll find out more about this leader in the KISS Army.

Morley: How did you become involved with the march?
Joe: I drafted a petition to get KISS in the Rock Hall https://www.petitiononline.com/TheQuest/petition.html and started a Yahoo! group, KISS In The Rock Hall Of Fame, dedicated to this cause. I asked Paul Carpenter to join the group. All of a sudden, Paul comes up with this "Declaration of War" on the Rock Hall. This led to the march.

Morley: What are your responsibilities with regards to this project?
Joe: Co-chairman, follow in Paul’s responsibilities.

Morley: What are your expectations for the march?
Joe: A peaceful gathering of KISS fans that support KISS being in the Rock Hall.

Morley: What are you most looking forward to seeing/doing at the march?
Joe: Meeting Gerasimos from Greece.

Morley: How long have you been a KISS fan and what originally drew you to them?
Joe: Since 1975. RARAN (ed. Note. To casual fans, that’s “Rock and Roll All Nite” in case you were wondering).

Morley: What is your favorite KISS song and record?
Joe: It varies.

Morley: Your favorite period of the band?
Joe: Revenge/Carnival/Reunion

Morley: Number of times to see them in concert? Which tours?
Joe: 46. 1976 on.

Morley: Have you ever met the band? Can you please share how that came about?
Joe: Yes. 1995 conventions

Morley: Any anecdotes that you can share involving your dedication to KISS (friends that you made because of them, girlfriends/boyfriend who loved/hated them, things that happened at a KISS show, etc.)
Joe: First girlfriend was Christine...she was 16! Ex wife’s name was Beth. We divorced because "me and the boys were playin' all night!"

Morley: If you could personally address the Hall Selection Committee, what would you say to them?
Joe: WAKE UP! OPEN YOUR EYES!
