She chases after the bowl of milk. The drawings are black and white with the grey of the outdoors at night. The light of the moon shines on Kitten. Moonlight reflects on the pond and lights the kitten’s path.

Kevin Henkes' Kitten’s First Full Moon is the winner of the 2005 Caldecott Medal and a New York Times best-seller. The picture book is for children between four and eight-years-old. Yet, younger kids will enjoy the story book, too. Read the book in the classroom circle or as a bedtime book. Kids love the little kitten's antics.
