Books That Will Make You Smile

I have been fortunate enough to hear Sam Glenn speak on several occassions before he reached the level of success that he has currently achieved. A motivational speaker, Sam is a chalk artist. When speaking in churches, he uses a blank canvas, music and chalk to make spiritual pictures come to life. As part of his presentation, Sam always talks about his past and about his travels. A boisterous man, he stands well over 6 feet tall with a voice just as large. Hearing him tell stories about getting saved "accidentally" and of falling down, walking through airports with toilet paper stuck to his heel, and of the contents of his luggage being spilled all over the carousel had everyone laughing so hard we were all in tears. Sam has brought his comedic stories to life in a book, Butt Prints In The Sand. You will shake your head and laugh as you read it.

Squire Rushnell has published a series of When God Winks books. I heard about the book, When God Winks at You: How God Speaks Directly to You Through the Power of Coincidence from an acquaintence, found a copy at a local dollar store and sat down to read it over a cup of coffee one morning. The book is comprised of several stories. Each story is independent of the other and is only a page or two long. It is a quick, easy read that will provide inspiration as it tells you how God uses ordinary, every day people to accomplish His work.

Pick up one, or pick up both. They make light reading for moments when you need a pick-me-up but don't have a lot of time.
