Alastor "Mad-Eye" MoodyAlastor “Mad-Eye” Moody has long gray hair. A large portion of his nose is missing. He wears a peg leg. Also, Moody wears a blue magical eye, a replacement to one lost in battle. It spins and sees things on all around him. The eye can see through solid objects. His normal eye color is black. The former Auror, Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody is the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Barty Crouch Jr. and Peter "Wormtail" Pettigrew kidnap Moody. Barty Crouch, Jr. takes Mad-Eye’s position at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Barty swigs a Polyjuice Potion from a hip flask to keep his Mad-Eye appearance. Moody is known to take swigs from a flask, so no one pays any attention to Barty’s actions. The false Moody tries to kill Harry. The true Mad-Eye is found in a trunk without his magic eye and peg leg. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, ever vigilant Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody returns as a member the Order of the Phoenix guard. The guard’s duty is to safely escort Harry Potter from number four, Privet Drive to headquarters. Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody commands the group like a seasoned general. He gives the members their positions. Moody cautiously leads the formation to headquarters. They fly in the clouds and by-pass large cities to avoid detection. The general and his troops safely deliver Harry Potter to number twelve, Grimmauld Place. Moody is a survior of the first Wizarding war. He is an original Order of the Phoenix member. Albus Dumbledore is the founder. Alastor shows a photograph of the original members to Harry. Later, in the book, Moody along with Nymphadora Tonks, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Kingsley Shacklebolt help Harry and his friends fight Death Eaters in the Ministry of Magic. Battle-scarred, Moody attends Professor Albus Dumbledore’s funeral. This is in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Mad-Eye is the leader of the Order of the Phoenix escort again. It is their last assignment to safely remove Harry from Privet Drive. The seven Potters is his idea. He arrives with the Polyjuice Portion and the disguises. He is the partner with Mundungus’ Harry Potter. In battle with Death Eaters, Mundungus Disapparates leaving Moody alone. Lord Voldemort kills Mad-Eye. He falls off his broom and his body is never found. Harry finds his magic eye on Dolores Umbridge’s door in the Ministry of Magic. Harry takes and buries it. Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody places jinxes on number twelve, Grimmauld Place to keep Severus Snape out of the place. There are the T-Tongue Tying Curse and a figure of Dumbledore after his killer.
