About the BellaOnline Senior Living Editor

This editor is currHi – Debora Dyess, here. If you’re here on the bio page, it’s to find out a little bit about who is writing for the Senior Living site, so here goes:

Born in Austin, Texas, I’ve been writing for most of my life. I believe from the time my pudgy little hand could grasp a crayon or pencil, I was penning a story to paper. I am now a full-time author and copywriter, usually writing educational copy for elementary school aged children. (That makes me feel a little better about all that money I spent on the degree!) I also write short stories, novels, songs for kids and whatever else I’m hired to do. I always reserve the right to turn a job down, but find that by writing to a wide variety of topic I stay sharp and continue to learn about life and the world we live in.

I’m a mom of grown children and possibly the proudest grandma you’ve ever met! While my husband and I enjoyed an empty nest for a short period of time, our daughter and her three kiddos have returned home until she finishes college, something she put off when her daughter was born in 204, and then again when the boys came along a few years later. I’m rediscovering the joys, trials and late nights of being a (part-time) parent as I help her raise her lovelies. I also work as a children’s minister at our church, which brings me great joy and a whole different set of challenges. I don’t have the perfect life by any means, but most days I can’t think of much I’d change.

But this site is not about me – it’s about you. I want to write about things you want to read about, meeting your needs and expectations of this site. Please feel free to email me or visit with me in the forum or chat. I look forward to hearing from you, gaining your wisdom and experience and sharing a little of my own.
